Derry Refrigerated Transport

Derry Refrigerated Transport have been working successfully with NIBC for over a decade, first linking up when we became their preferred telecoms supplier. We now supply them with their fleet management and telematics solutions across their fleet.

As NIBC have expanded their product range we have benefited immensely. The most notable impact has come from their Fuel Smart software which has reduced administration time, saved us money and enabled us to increase driver satisfaction over the last 4 years. Fuel Smart has helped us remain competitive and in control of our costs by monitoring metrics such as time spent in rev bands, harsh breaking, idling, speeding and MPG.

The Driver league Tables have helped Derry Refrigerated Transport reach its MPG targets and helped us control fuel costs.  It has been embraced by our drivers and has created a sense of friendly competition, no driver wants to be in the bottom 5!

We have recently installed NIBC Tacho Smart, Camera Smart and Trailer Smart across our fleet which we have also seen significant benefits and savings from.  The Tacho Smart solution gives us a live drive analysis every minute as well as visability of next break and duration live from the tachograph.  Tacho Smart allows our planners to accurately calculate suitability for job & driver assignment and keeps us complaint.  There is now no need for us to visit the vehicle for a download as this is scheduled automatically from Tacho Smart.

Camera Smart is also installed in all our vehicles which has given our drivers increased security and peace of mind when on the road.

The Trailer Smart software allows our office to plan our jobs routes and the scheduled utilisation report is reviewed first thing every morning giving us peace of mind knowing the exact location of our assets.

Since July 2012 our account manager Phil Cowen, has been listening to our requirements and bringing us first class business solutions which have combined our needs and helped us meet our business objectives. The open communication between the team at NIBC and ourselves has allowed us to keep up to date with the advances in technology and remain competitive by increasing our fleet management capabilities.

Our new Scania V8 R580 trucks have been fitted with the full range of NIBC software and we are already seeing the benefits with instant reports on the driver and vehicle performance.

Over the last 12 months NIBC have integrated our mobiles and land lines onto Vodafone One Net Business. This solution integrates our land line, mobile & desktop connectivity through a single billing platform. 

Since moving to One Net we have seen significant communication savings despite having calls and data to & from Ireland included. In our busy office environment, it makes sense for us to have one bill and one point of contact as well as enabling our staff to connect at any moment, through any device.

For us it’s all about being more efficient and NIBC have helped us with this in many areas of our business.  Of course, the free hardware, installation, set-up and training were also an attraction! This setup allows our company to be a 24/7 operation improving customer service and enabling us to focus on the other development needs of the business.

Throughout the whole process we were very impressed with the support that we received from NIBC, which in some cases was required outside of business hours. As Derry Refrigerated Transport continues to expand, we have one less hassle in the knowledge that NIBC continues to develop their offerings at the same pace. Staff are knowledgeable and patient with any queries, and frequently are onsite to ensure we are not just treated as a client, but continue to show interest in our business to see if they should adapt their processes to suit.
